🌍 A Note from Dr. Jawad Akram

Pakistani students ask me about International Trade and Economics in China more than almost any other program — and I understand why. China is not just a classroom for this subject. It is the subject itself. You cannot study global trade from a more relevant location on earth than the country that handles nearly 13% of all world exports.

I am based in China. I see the trade ecosystem here daily — the Canton Fair that brings 200,000+ buyers from 200 countries to Guangzhou twice a year, the Alibaba and JD.com warehouses that process millions of cross-border orders, the port of Shanghai that moves more cargo than any port in the world. Students who study International Trade here do not just read about supply chains in textbooks — they live inside the world’s most active one.

Combined with the scholarship reductions Scholarship Navigator has negotiated — as low as ¥2,000 per year — this is one of the best-value international business degrees available to Pakistani students anywhere in the world.

💡 CPEC Advantage: The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is actively creating demand for Pakistan professionals who understand Chinese business culture, trade systems, and economics. A degree earned inside China — with Mandarin exposure and a Chinese university network — puts you at the front of this queue. Scholarship Navigator students are already working in CPEC-related roles after graduation.

Frequently Asked Questions — International Trade & Economics in China

Do I need CSCA or any professional exam to apply?

No. There is no requirement for CSCA, ACCA, CFA or any other professional exam to apply for International Trade and Economics programs at our partner universities. Admission is based on your academic record only. A Bachelor’s in any relevant business, commerce or economics field is sufficient for postgraduate programs. Contact Scholarship Navigator to confirm exact requirements for your profile.

How much will I actually pay after the scholarship?

At our Guangzhou partner the original tuition of ¥34,000/year is reduced to under ¥10,000/year — approximately PKR 380,000. At our Beijing region partner the original fee of ¥12,000/year is reduced to just ¥2,000/year — approximately PKR 76,000. The Beijing option is one of the most affordable international business degrees available anywhere in the world for an English-medium program.

Which university is better — Guangzhou or near Beijing?

It depends entirely on your career goals. Guangzhou is better for students interested in import/export, manufacturing trade, supply chain, and business — it is China’s trading capital and home to the Canton Fair. Near Beijing is better for students interested in macroeconomics, government policy, diplomacy, or international organisations — and it is significantly cheaper at ¥2,000/year. Not sure which fits you? WhatsApp us your profile and we will advise you directly.

Is an International Trade degree from China recognized in Pakistan?

Yes. Business and economics degrees from recognised Chinese universities are accepted by HEC (Higher Education Commission) Pakistan for employment and further study. Unlike medical degrees, there is no separate licensing exam — graduates can work directly in their field upon return. Scholarship Navigator only recommends HEC-recognised institutions. Contact us for recognition details specific to your target employer or institution.

What is the scope of International Trade in Pakistan in 2026?

The scope is growing rapidly. CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) has created sustained demand for professionals who understand Chinese trade, business culture, and economics. Pakistan’s import/export sector, banking institutions, and government trade bodies are actively hiring graduates with China-specific knowledge and networks. Students who study International Trade inside China — and build contacts there — arrive in the Pakistani job market with a distinctive competitive edge that locally-trained graduates cannot replicate.

Can I do an MBA after completing a BSc in International Trade from China?

Yes. A BSc in International Trade and Economics from a recognised Chinese university qualifies you to apply for MBA programs in Pakistan, China, and internationally. Many of our students go on to complete their MBA either in China (at a significant scholarship reduction through Scholarship Navigator) or back in Pakistan. Contact us to discuss your postgraduate options after completing your undergraduate program.

Do I need to learn Chinese to study International Trade in China?

No — both programs are fully English-medium. You do not need Chinese language skills to complete your degree or graduate. However, picking up basic conversational Mandarin during your studies is a significant career advantage — especially in trade roles involving Chinese counterparts. Many students naturally acquire basic Chinese during their 2–4 years in China without any formal study.

Does Scholarship Navigator charge a fee for ITE admission guidance?

The initial eligibility check and university recommendation is completely free. For students who proceed with full application support — document preparation, submission, scholarship confirmation, visa guidance, and pre-departure briefing — a service fee applies. We are transparent about our fees from the first conversation. Contact us via WhatsApp for current details →
